Cotswolds hidden gems

The Cotswolds is a picturesque area in England with rolling hills and quaint little towns spotted throughout the area, the perfect place to spend a weekend away celebrating 5 years of marriage with the husband! We stayed at Whiteacres Guesthouse B&B in a little town called Broadway, about a 2 minute walk from its centre. Stan and his wife were great, super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was fantastic, quite the selection to choose from! Husband said it was the best English Breakfast he's had!

Friday afternoon, we walked the city centre then drove up a winding, curvy hill to reach Broadway Tower, the Cotswolds 2nd highest point. The view from the top of the tower was incredible! You could see for miles! It was quite windy and a little chilly, but well worth the fuss. We then ended our day at the Horse and Hound pub for a meal and a pint and walked the public walking paths to enjoy the views.

Day 2 of anniversary weekend, we drove the short distance to Chipping Campden. We walked through the city centre, viewed an old church, indulged in afternoon tea (well I did, the husband had lunch), and found fantastic secondhand bookstore! Well, I thought it was pretty fantastic, but then again, I love books. The shop was pretty tiny, but the selection was large and varied! Needless to say, happy anniversary to me!

The husband got his enjoyment at the falconry that afternoon. It was pretty neat! The shows were entertaining and informative and house a large selection of birds. See if you can spot the hidden owl in one of the pictures below!

Our third day, we visited Kenilworth Castle on our way home, but I'm going to save that for another blog, give you something to look forward to!
